Night Vision Operator Course

$550.00This 2 day course is designed to provide the tactical officer with a strong foundation for the use of night vision equipment and its role in law enforcement tactical operations. Students will gain hands-on experience with the function and operation of various night vision devices, infrared laser sighting systems, IR lights, and handheld thermal units. This course is a systematic approach to equipment selection, operational considerations, benefits and limitations of night vision/thermal devices, and the dangers of infrared laser devices to eye safety. This course will involve classroom discussions, practical exercises, live fire range, and scenario-based exercises using simulation/force-on-force equipment and weapons

Mandatory Equipment
· Standard tactical equipment and body armor
· Helmet mountable night vision device (NOD) with helmet, mount, and transfer arm.
· Rifle with weapon mounted light, 3 magazines and 200 rounds rifle ammunition.
· Handgun with weapon mounted light, 3 magazines and 50 rounds handgun ammunition.
· Eye/ear protection, and clothing appropriate for the forecasted weather conditions.
· Handheld white light
· Spare batteries for NOD, lights, and sights.
· Sims /Force on Force conversion bolt for rifle with 40 rounds Force on Force/Simms marking ammunition.
Suggested Equipment
· Weapon Mounted IR and or visible laser
· IR Marker/Beacon
· Handheld Thermal
Note:
Students who attend the course and do not have IR lasers, IR lights and handheld thermal will be provided opportunities at the course. Instructors will bring some additional NOD/thermal equipment for both demonstration and student use.
