SUMMARY:Basic SWAT Course
DESCRIPTION:The Five Day Basic SWAT Course sponsored by the St Cloud Police Department and is designed for the entry level Tactical Officer or Operator or the currently operational officer that has not been to an updated swat course for several years. The course focuses on the basics of working in the team environment\, concentrating on tactical team basics and skills\, operations\, and concepts as well as team composition and dynamics. Operational scouting\, Mission planning\, variable Operational concepts for the Kinetic tactical environment\, Leadership\, Asymmetric thinking and teamwork are emphasized during the entire week with extensive FTX’s and experiential based exercises addressing current and new tactical concepts and thinking. This is a very challenging but rewarding course for anyone that attends. Participants should have a higher degree of operation and proficiency with their handguns and rifles prior to attending the course. After registering participants will receive an email with equipment requirements\, needs and location specific for the course. \nMinnesota POST Credit hours: 50

The courses is for agencies that need to add new instructional staff and/or who may be looking to provide updated training to current training staff. \nFirst day: Course participants will be trained in Lesson plan and program research and design\, Course and curriculum development\, Lesson Plan Presentation\, Legal liabilities\, OIS Requirements\, POST Requirements\, Record keeping\, Range safety\, and Adult learning methodology.    \n All Additional days will be spent on range conducting live fire drills\, Firearms Range Training Exercises\, Teach backs and refining the specific course objectives to enhance learning and instructional skill acquisition. \nAmmunition Requirements: (Ammunition requirements: 800 handgun and 600 rifle \nPOST Credits: 40 Hours
