The courses is for agencies that need to add new instructional staff and/or who may be looking to provide updated training to current training staff. \nFirst day: Course participants will be trained in Lesson plan and program research and design\, Course and curriculum development\, Lesson Plan Presentation\, Legal liabilities\, OIS Requirements\, POST Requirements\, Record keeping\, Range safety\, and Adult learning methodology.    \n All Additional days will be spent on range conducting live fire drills\, Firearms Range Training Exercises\, Teach backs and refining the specific course objectives to enhance learning and instructional skill acquisition. \nAmmunition Requirements: (Ammunition requirements: 800 handgun and 600 rifle \nPOST Credits: 40 Hours

DESCRIPTION:This 2 day course is designed to provide the tactical officer with a strong foundation for the use of night vision equipment and its role in law enforcement tactical operations. Students will gain hands-on experience with the function and operation of various night vision devices\, infrared laser sighting systems\, IR lights\, and handheld thermal units. This course is a systematic approach to equipment selection\, operational considerations\, benefits and limitations of night vision/thermal devices\, and the dangers of infrared laser devices to eye safety. This course will involve classroom discussions\, practical exercises\, live fire range\, and scenario-based exercises using simulation/force-on-force equipment and weapons \nDay 1 \n1500-1800 Classroom/ Indoor Practical Exercises\n1800-1900 Break\n1900-0000 Practical Exercises / Live Fire Range \nDay 2 \n1500-1800 Classroom / Indoor Practical Exercises\n1800-1900 Break\n1900-0000 Building Clearing/Rural Terrain/Scenarios \nMandatory Equipment \n· Standard tactical equipment and body armor \n· Helmet mountable night vision device (NOD) with helmet\, mount\, and transfer arm. \n· Rifle with weapon mounted light\, 3 magazines and 200 rounds rifle ammunition. \n· Handgun with weapon mounted light\, 3 magazines and 50 rounds handgun ammunition. \n· Eye/ear protection\, and clothing appropriate for the forecasted weather conditions. \n· Handheld white light \n· Spare batteries for NOD\, lights\, and sights. \n· Sims /Force on Force conversion bolt for rifle with 40 rounds Force on Force/Simms marking ammunition. \nSuggested Equipment \n· Weapon Mounted IR and or visible laser \n· IR Marker/Beacon \n· Handheld Thermal \nNote:\nStudents who attend the course and do not have IR lasers\, IR lights and handheld thermal will be provided opportunities at the course. SUMMARY:2-Day Observe / Diagnose / Remedy - Pistol Course
DESCRIPTION:The majority of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors are not set up for success in teaching their audience on how to improve their shooting performance – they are training to get through a lesson plan. This course will shift that paradigm and put the students’ performance first. \nThe Two-day Observe – Diagnose – Remedy training course is designed to teach problem solving skills to current L.E. Firearms Instructors on how to identify and fix shooters’ deficiencies. This course will focus on the importance of hard skills\, various current and new instructional methodologies\, incorporating adult learning concepts\, and identifying patterns in shooters’ performances. \nDay One of this course will present the attendees with several current and new techniques on Observing\, Diagnosing\, and Remediating shooting deficiencies. Attendees will be given time to experiment with the Remediation drills\, so the shooter can increase his / her awareness of their own deficiencies. \nDay Two of the course will introduce shooters who are seeking improvement in their shooting performance. The attendees\, using the material from Day One\, will work with the shooters to Observe\, Diagnose\, and Remediate shooting complications – improving their instructional abilities and problem solving and the shooter in their shooting performance. \nEquipment requirements: \n● Handgun with 3 magazines\n● Holster and magazine pouches\n● Vest / body armor.\n● Minimum 600 rounds range ammunition\n● Ear and Eye protection\n● Appropriate Range Clothing\n● Note taking material

DESCRIPTION:MISSION CRITICAL CONCEPTS\, hosted by the Duluth Police Department\, is offering a combined handgun and patrol rifle fundamentals course for female law enforcement officers at the Duluth Police Department range. This course is for all female officers looking to improve their firearms skills (grip/vision/trigger\, speed\, accuracy\, and movement) in a low-stress\, confidence-boosting learning environment. \nAttendees will dedicate one day to pistol training and one day to rifle training. This course will increase the attendee’s confidence (through self-assessment) in running a patrol rifle and their issued handgun with speed and accuracy\, and the attendee will develop the skills needed to move and shoot in dynamic situations. \nLead instructor is Orie Oksendahl\, a seasoned Firearms and Tactics instructor for a state agency in Minnesota. She has experience on multiple tactical teams and has vast experience in high-risk operations.
