SUMMARY:2 Day RDS Pistol – Instructor Training Program
DESCRIPTION:The MCC 2–Day RDS Instructor course sponsored by the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office is designed to give department instructional staff a hands-on experience of RDS handgun familiarization\, training\, skill\, technique\, and department program development. This course will provide the student trainer with a solid basic understanding of the RDS\, common RDS issues and operations and the best effective instructional methodology and use of the RDS for duty and tactical applications. Heavy emphasis will be on Shooter–Coach Instruction\, Teach Backs\, Program Development and Problem Solving with extensive Firearms Drills focusing on speed and accuracy.   \nInstruction includes:  \n\nAdult Learning Principles and Agency Implementation \n\n\nBenefits / Drawbacks / Limitations of RDS \n\n\nInstructional Diagnostics and Problem Solving \n\n\nShooter Fundamentals problem solving \n\n\nOptic types\, selection\, and issues \n\n\nSystem Functionality & Failures and Issues. \n\n\nFirearm fundamentals applied to the MRDS. \n\n\nShooter Analysis and Diagnostics – O.D.R. Methodology \n\n\nReloads and Malfunction remediation with the RDS \n\n\nLow Light  \n\n\nUse of Cover \n\n\nMovement \n\n\nInstructional Skill Development and Teach Backs \n\n\nEquipment requirements:  \n\nRDS equipped Handgun with 3 magazines.  \n\n\nRDS Holster and magazine pouches \n\n\nVest / body armor. \n\n\nMinimum 600 rounds range ammunition \n\n\nEar and Eye protection  \n\n\nAppropriate Range Clothing \n\n  \nPost Credits: 16
