SUMMARY:Officer Ambush -2 Day Course
DESCRIPTION:This 2-day patrol level course is designed to enhance your skills to not only survive but dominate an ambush attack while on duty in multiple environments. These situations will include being in your patrol vehicle\, on a traffic stop\, or working in an area near your squad or other vehicles. In addition to vehicle-related ambush situations\, this course will explore other disadvantageous positions that law enforcement officers may find themselves in and how to combat those as well. This course will focus on fundamental skills of movement\, communication\, accurate shooting\, manipulation of the weapon and using cover and concealment. This course will include both live fire exercises and force on force scenarios. \nEquipment:\n● Duty belt\, body armor\, eye\, and ear protection\n● Handgun\, 3 magazines and 500 rounds ammunition\n● Simms pistol with 25 rounds marking ammunition\n● Clothing appropriate for weather conditions outdoors \nNote:\nStudents who do not have access to simmunitions pistol or marking cartridges will be provided opportunities to use some provided by instructors during the course.

SUMMARY:Designated Rifle Marksman / LPVO 2-day
DESCRIPTION:PURPOSE OF COURSE: The two (2) day Designated Rifle Marksman (DRM) course is designed to train the officer or SWAT Operator to be proficient with a carbine equipped with a low power scope or magnifier and to be able to engage targets out to 200 yards. This course is not a substitute for law enforcement snipers. This course’s emphasis is on perimeter officer’s ability to identify and engage threats at greater distances then officers armed with rifles with only iron sights or red dot sights. . \nCOURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to be taught in a lecture as well as practical application format\, with 75% of the course on the range in practical application. GOALS: The Goals of the Course are as follows: \n\nRefinement of rifle marksmanship fundamentals.\nDemonstrate the ability to identify and accurately engage threats out to 200 yards.\nUnderstand the advantages and disadvantages of low power variable optics and magnifiers.\nUnderstand the role of ammunition selection in accuracy.\nUnderstand the role and deployment of the designated rifle marksman.\n\nMETHODS OF EVALUATION: This course will be evaluated by two different rifle qualification courses\, as well as a written test. Students will also complete a written critique at the end of the course. \nMETHODS OF INSTRUCTION: \n\nLecture format\nPractical application / live fire training. Students should be competent with their weapons prior to attending the class. Students should be in good physical condition as several courses of fire and the qualification course require sprinting. Any student who is unable to participate in a course of fire due to physical limitations will not be allowed to continue in the course.\n\n COURSE PREREQUISITES: Students should be competent with their weapons prior to attending the class.  Students should be in good physical condition as several courses of fire and the qualification course require sprinting. Students will be required to have the following equipment: \n\n.223-.308 caliber carbine with a low power scope (ACOG\, ELCAN\, various manufacturer Low Powered Variable Optic) or a red dot scope with a magnifier.\n4 rifle magazines and magazine pouches (Belt\, Leg or Chest Pouches)\nSoft body armor or plate carrier.\nAmmunition:\n600 rounds rifle ammunition (Ammunition should be capable of 3 MOA at 100 yards)\n50 rounds pistol ammunition.
