DESCRIPTION:MISSION CRITICAL CONCEPTS\, hosted by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office\, is offering a combined handgun and patrol rifle fundamentals course for female law enforcement officers at the Wright County Training Center. This course is for all female officers looking to improve their firearms skills (grip/vision/trigger\, speed\, accuracy\, and movement) in a low-stress\, confidence-boosting learning environment. \nAttendees will dedicate one day to pistol training and one day to rifle training. This course will increase the attendees’ confidence (through self-assessment) in running a patrol rifle and in their issued handgun\, with speed and accuracy\, and will develop the skills needed to move and shoot in dynamic situations. \nLead instructor is Orie Oksendahl\, a seasoned Firearms and Tactics instructor for a state agency in Minnesota. She has experience on multiple tactical teams and in high-risk operations. Oksendahl is also a licensed Tactical Strength & Conditioning Facilitator and certified Health & Wellness coach. \nAmmunition Requirements: 500 handgun and 500 rifle rounds \nEquipment: \n\nEye & Ear pro\nVest / Body armor\nDuty rifle with at least 3 magazines and pouches\nPistol with 3 magazines\nDuty belt with holster and mag pouches\nNote taking material\nFood & Water\n\nPOST Credits: 16 Hours

DESCRIPTION:*Restricted to L.E. & Military personnel* \nThe Tactical Tracking 5-Day Course is an intensive training program designed to provide law enforcement\, military personnel\, and specialized tactical teams with the skills necessary to locate and apprehend individuals in diverse terrains and environments. This course focuses on the fundamentals of human tracking\, operational planning\, and tactical execution while emphasizing safety\, situational awareness\, and team coordination. It is taught by Level 2 and Level 3 Tactical Trackers with real-world tactical tracking experience tracking violent offenders and drug cartel members in the wilderness. \nCourse Objectives: \nParticipants will: \n\nDevelop understanding of the principles of tactical tracking\, including identifying\, interpreting\, and following human sign/spoor (e.g.\, footprints\, disturbed vegetation\, and discarded items).\nDevelop situational awareness and learn to assess environmental clues in rural\, urban\, and wilderness settings.\nUnderstand team roles\, communication protocols\, and operational planning for tracking missions – with enhanced ability to provide guidance to their tactical team for real-world missions.\nPractice integrating tracking with other tactical operations\, such as surveillance\, perimeter containment\, and suspect apprehension.\nLearn techniques to counter-evasion tactics employed by suspects.\nImprove decision-making skills under stress while maintaining officer safety\n\nCourse Structure: \nDay 1: Foundations of Tactical Tracking \n\nIntroduction to tracking fundamentals: sign recognition\, interpretation\, and documentation.\nUnderstanding human movement patterns and behavior.\nClassroom instruction followed by field exercises focusing on reading ground disturbances.\n\nDay 2: Practical Field Applications \n\nAdvanced techniques for identifying and following tracks in various terrains – urban\, wilderness\, & rural.\nTeam-based tracking drills emphasizing communication and coordination.\nIntroduction to counter-tracking awareness and evasion tactics.\n\nDay 3: Integrating Tactics with Tracking \n\nPlanning and executing tracking missions.\nTactical formations\, movement techniques\, and safety protocols during tracking operations.\nNight tracking operations and low-light techniques.\n\nDay 4: Encounter Action Drills & Live Fire Drills \n\nTeam movement & response to suspect aggression.\nLive-fire drills & weapons selection/capabilities.\nTeam-based tracking drills including lost spoor techniques\, Encounter Action Drills\, and C2.\n\nDay 5: Scenario-Based Training and Evaluation \n\nFull-scale scenarios simulating real-world tracking missions.\nIncorporation of operational constraints\, such as time pressure\, hostile environments\, and suspect evasion.\nDebriefs and performance assessments to identify strengths and areas for improvement.\n\nTarget Audience: \nThis course is tailored for law enforcement officers\, tactical teams\, search-and-rescue personnel\, and military units seeking advanced training in tracking and field operations. \nPrerequisites: \n\nBasic knowledge of tactical operations.\nPhysical fitness to participate in field exercises.\nAppropriate field gear (a detailed equipment list will be provided one month prior to class.)\n\nCourse Goals: \nUpon successful completion\, participants will have the skills and confidence to lead or assist in tactical tracking operations\, enhancing their ability to safely & efficiently apprehend suspects in rural/wooded environments and resolve critical incidents in dynamic environments.
